Mandala Playshops

Mandala is the Sanskrit word meaning ‘circle’, a symbol of wholeness and the unifying element of the universe. Learn about mandalas, the intuitive art process and energize your sense of play, creating mandala artwork. You will learn a focusing exercise using mindfulness, and experience the inherent creative process going on within you at all times. There is no previous art experience needed.

Expressive Art Therapy with Women Healing from Cancer

Women who have experienced cancer are often left with many unprocessed aspects of their experience; mind, body and spirit. We will learn a gentle process of inner focusing, art making, active imagination writing, and group process to begin to learn how to be present with the changes and, to encourage self-care on a daily basis. The facilitator has experienced breast cancer. There is no previous art experience needed.

Adoptive Mothers: Parenting and Self Care with ACT

The adoption experience is a unique, complex family experience for both adoptive parents and children. We will learn the 6 Core Principles of ACT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, aiming to learn increase psychological flexibility, living more fully in the present, relating to emotions and acting in the service of personal values. You will explore a current family issue that you are experiencing using an art process which may offer you different perspective and a way to move through future challenges. The facilitator is an adoptee and has worked with adoptive families for over 18years. There is no previous art experience needed.

Art Therapy and Psychodrama: Moving From Fear to Confidence

This workshop provides an Art and Psychodrama experiential to explore the role of fear in developing and enhancing self-confidence. At the completion of this workshop, members will develop a different relationship with fear and, understand individual and universal aspects of empowerment to move into action in their life.
